Stock up Season is coming

So moving into the holiday season soon you will all see the soups, broths and other “seasonal” cooking items going on sale over the next several months.

The best way to shop is watch the sales and hoard your coupon inserts. Use a marker that stands out and attach a list to that sales ad that you can also attach coupons to. Take your binder with you so as not to miss a good sale or markdown items. Last year I completely stocked our entire pantry and deep freeze and over a period of 3 months for a family of 4 I only spent about $350. Take that total and divid by 3 months and the weeks and it came to about $166 a month and we ate really good and it all lasted until March and I restocked as the sales hit really well. My first really good sale came the day after Halloween last year at Kroger and I bought 42 boxes of crackers, cereal and snacks mixed and ALL brand names and only paid on average $1.02 per box.

Watch carefully for the sales and really watch for the 3 day only sales and things like that. That’s how I bought all the crackers and items listed above. You can save a fortune and I paid less for all my name brands than I would have for generics.

Stay alert people and the sales and savings will come.
